Mónica de Morais (1958) lives and works in Cascais, Portugal.
She attended the National Society of fine arts (1992-1997) and studied engraving at Atelier Paiva Raposo. Since then she had various solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions regularly in Portugal, Spain, France, England, Oslo, Italy and China.
She has also participated at International biennales in Kanagawa, Japan, Taipei, and Formosa.
Her works can be found in various private collections and at The museum Florean of Contemporary Art - Romania, Baia Tide, The museum Luo Qi Moderm Art - China, Hangzhou & Qingtian and The Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation - Mana Contemporary, JC, USA.
Being the author of multi-faced work, focusing on painting, drawing and engraving, her most recent works deal with humanitarian and spiritual reflections. She claims she is painting dreams, the subconcious and the colors and shapes of dreams. Her paintings are often big scale and has a surrealistic approach, both in motifs and colors.
